02 | The Power of Showing Up

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned in life and volunteering is this: showing up matters more than being perfect.

I still remember the first time I signed up for a volunteer event. I was nervous, unsure if I had the right skills, and honestly thought, What difference can I actually make? But then I showed up. And that one simple step—just being there—opened the door to connection, community, and purpose.

Here’s the truth: most of the impact we make in life doesn’t come from big, grand gestures. It comes from small, consistent moments. Listening to someone who needs to be heard. Helping with a task that feels too small to notice. Offering encouragement when it’s needed most.

If you’re waiting to feel ready before you take the next step—whether it’s volunteering, starting a project, or even having that important conversation—let me encourage you: you don’t have to be ready, you just have to show up.

Because when you do, you’ll be surprised at how much unfolds simply because you were present.

So here’s to imperfect steps, nervous beginnings, and choosing to show up anyway. That’s where real change begins.
